The House was purpose-built in 1930 and named after Lawrence Sheriff, the founder of the School. It is spacious inside with three common rooms, a large Tutors' area, a small library and huge games room upstairs. All the boys have their own study bedroom from the E Block (Year 10) upwards. In the F Block (Year 9), the boys sleep in two small dormitories of five and have their own study downstairs for work. Sheriff has a large and attractive central quad, which is used for barbeques and social time whenever the weather allows, and a huge back lawn, which is a regular venue for mass games of House football. All boys are encouraged to participate and persevere; to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of those around them and to understand that the good reputation of the House is built upon their actions. Ultimately, if a pupil leaves Sheriff without regrets about missed opportunities, but with happy memories and long-lasting friendships, we will have succeeded.
