About the House

The House, which was opened to boys in 1830, has been known as Bradley since 1945 and was converted into a girls' House in 1992. In Rugby Since Arnold JB Hope Simpson wrote:

When the Armistice was signed on 11 November, 1918, Rugby School joined in the general hysterical rejoicing of the country; ... and, on the roof of what is now Bradley House, R. G. C. Levens, using one of the turrets as a stand, conducted an orchestra of eleven instruments in a concert listened to delightedly by an audience of several hundred in the Barby Road.

In the 21st century, the spirit of Bradley House lives on.

Bradley House is built around a quadrangle complete with hanging baskets and other floral displays.

The House has a purpose-built library with wood panelling, Honours Boards dating from 1830, stained glass windows and polished floors. It also houses the girls' computer and printers, and serves as a quiet work room.
