Careers Guidance

Pupils are helped to explore a wide range of careers possibilities, through their Morrisby Profiling in the D block, and the Careers Convention which is held in school every two years when around 70 speakers in a wide range of careers come and talk about a day in their working life to pupils and parents.

Pupils are expected to complete at least two weeks of work experience and use the opportunities provided in School Houses, societies, and Thursday afternoon activities to build their “soft” skills and experience of life and work outside school, so that they are highly employable. Guidance from the Careers Department is readily available through HE lessons and pupils are also encouraged to speak 1:1 with a careers advisor at any time. Formal 1:1 interviews with a careers advisor take place in the D block and the LXX, but pupils are aware that staff are available to help at any time.
